Notching device equipment fitted
in the middle of transversal carriage.
It is a box structure , appropriately dimensioned with suitable
ribs. It offers maximum rigidity and ensures chatter free operations,
also during the most severe working conditions.
The notches are produced by a rotating cutting tool: the combined
rotation of the tool and of the spindlel where the roll is mounted,
generates the helix notches while their number and angle depend
on the ratio between tool and spindle rotation speed.
Generally the CNC control works on four axis: the tool rotation,
the spindle rotation and the two horizontal axis.
With such a control the machine can automatically recognise
the number of principles and if the number of notches is divisible
for them, the tool is automatically positioned over one notch
for each roll rotation.
Thanks to the longitudinal axes control, even a different distance
between each groove centreline can be easily handling.
All equipment works by CNC control. To execute in very simple
way all kind of notching operations we realized a special CNC
graphic software.

Turning and Milling
centres GGTRONIC 3000

The new line
of GGTRONIC turning and milling centres, also designed for use
in an unmanned environment, can machine cylinders and complex
components up to 4,000 mm in diameter and 20,000 mm in length.
These machines are high-powered turning and milling centres,
particularly suited to heavy-duty machining in the precision
mechanics sector, to the machining of ship masts, wind turbine
masts, turbine shafts, oil pipeline valves, crankshafts and
rolls, to the machining of large winch drums, and so on.
One of our key objectives during the design stage were the machine's
ergonomic features, as well as ease of clamping, tool visibility
throughout the various stages of machining, and the different
measurements once the part has been finished.
A forerunner in the movement of the longitudinal axis (Z axis),
we have used INA RUE 100 linear roller guideways, high stiffness
guideways, and sliding on preloaded roller guide shoes.
Traverse speeds of 20,000 mm/min can be reached using this system.
As for the longitudinal axis, the X and Y axes also slide on
preloaded roller guide shoes.
With a B-axis machine, parts can be machined both on 5 sides,
in a single setup, or by using all 5 axes to machine any complex
profile.
Positioning precision and repeatability, ± 0.01 and ± 0.005 mm, are particularly noteworthy.
The machine structure, built entirely of cast iron, is strong
enough to take anti-vibration boring bars, suitable for internal
boring to a depth of over 4,000 mm.
